LYTES ZERO SUGAR HYDRATION
THE CLEANEST ZERO SUGAR ELECTROLYTES
THE CLEANEST ZERO SUGAR ELECTROLYTES
I'm on a carnivore diet and this is essential to my health. I took the plunge and switched over from LMNT to these guys and WOAH what a game changer. I love the subtle flavor and the monk fruit doesn't upset my stomach. It's not too salty where it's unbearable. I drink them every day in my water. I'm so excited for new flavors to come. I'm a client for life!
I’ve had a difficult time staying hydrated living at high elevation and need daily electrolytes to avoid dehydration, headaches and migraines, lightheadedness, and overall fatigue. Taking this, many of my symptoms are gone. Chose this over LMNT because there is no stevia but tastes just as good.
LYTES uses Pink Himalayan Sea Salt to replace fluids and minerals lost from sweat. Harvested from ancient sea salt deposits found deep in the Himalayan Mountains, the trace minerals found in this salt, such as iron, magnesium, potassium & calcium result in its range of colors.
All of our Himalayan salt is carefully sourced from FDA-registered suppliers. Once it arrives at our suppliers' state-of-the-art facilities, it undergoes a gamut of quality assurance processes to remove any impurities. Our salt is never heated or refined, and contains no additives of any kind. Just the highest quality & most unadultered Himalayan pink salt possible.
Important for optimal body functioning, Potassium plays an important role in the nervous system by relaying messages between your brain and body.
Potassium also regulates your muscle contractions, reflexes, heartbeat, and other important bodily functions.
Important for a healthy heart and strong muscles, Potassium must be consumed as the human body cannot produce it.
We formulated LYTES with the chelated form of magnesium for maximum absorption, better absorbed than cheaper forms of Magnesium. Magnesium is an essential electrolyte works by transporting blood sugars into the muscles to create fuel and energy, while simultaneously disposing of lactate that causes fatigue.
Why Glycinate? Glycine benefits go a lot further than benefiting sleep (you won't feel drowsy, just get better sleep). Glycine is an important amino acid that places a role in the production of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, and the production of creatine. And we all know the benefits of creatine. Plus we already have malic acid within our formulation so any benefit of using Magnesium Malate is already covered there.
One of the major minerals in your body, Chloride is one of the most important electrolytes found in your blood.
Chloride is responsible for normal cell functioning, fluid balance, and maintaining proper blood volume and body fluids.
Our flavors are derived from spray dried fruit oils. We start with Lemon or Orange Oil, then spray dry the oil into a powder and put it onto a carrier. In our case we use Acacia Gum as the carrier.
All flavors need a carrier to turn them from liquid extracts into dry powders. Other cheaper carriers include maltodextrin, modified food starch, and dextrose. We use acacia gum because it uses the least amount of manufacturing steps and doesn't require any additives. It is the cleanest, most natural option available.
Acacia gum is derived from the stems and branches of Acacia Senegal or Acacia Seyal trees. There are no chemicals used to manufacture acacia gum. Its manufacturing cycle starts as a tree gum from the branches and stem that are then dried and used as an ingredient.
Lightly sweetened with 100% Organic Monk Fruit. Unlike store-bought Organic Monk Fruit, our monk fruit contains zero Erythritol and zero Stevia.
No, LYTES does not have maltodextrin in its formula.
Maltodextrin is typically used as a flavor carrier due to it’s low-cost, however maltodextrin is a carbohydrate that can spike blood sugar and cause digestive issues in certain individuals which makes it less than ideal.
In reality, all flavors need a carrier to turn them from liquid extracts to dry powders. Examples of these carriers include maltodextrin, modified food starch, dextrose, or acacia gum.
We use acacia gum because it’s minimally processed with zero additives and the cleanest, most natural option available.
Don’t let the term gum scare you, acacia gum is derived from acacia trees, specifically the stems and branches of Acacia Senegal or Acacia Seyal trees.
There are no chemicals used to manufacture acacia gum. Its manufacturing cycle starts as an exudate from the branches and stem that are then dried and used as an ingredient.
Since flavor carriers are part of the manufacturing process, they do not need to be labeled. However, we understand the importance of transparency and clean ingredients, which is why we choose acacia gum as our carrier.
Yes, we use acacia gum as our flavor carrier.
All flavors need a carrier to transform them from a liquid extract to a shelf stable powder.
Maltodextrin is the most common carrier used due its low cost, however maltodextrin can spike blood sugar and is not ideal for those following a keto, low carb, or carnivore diet.
Other common carriers include modified food starch, dextrose, and acacia gum.
Although the term “gum” gets a bad rap in supplements, acacia gum uses the term gum because it’s a “gummy” exudate or “tree gum”, similar to sap, from the stems and branches of the acacia trees.
During production, there are no chemicals used, in fact the exudate is dried then used as an ingredient.
On top of being the cleanest option available, acacia gum is commonly known for its gut benefits, low FODMAP status, and positive effects on digestive health and blood sugar management.
Our Lytes contain ZERO calories and will not break your fast!
Mix one serving of LYTES with 8-12oz of ice water before, during, or after training.
Dishonest companies want you to believe that sodium chloride (NaCl) is the equivalent of a naturally occurring salt such as Pink Himalayan Salt, but that is not true. The fact is that sodium chloride (NaCl) is a highly processed and bleached derivative of the starting material sea salt. Because it is so processed, producers must add anti-caking agents such as yellow prussiate of soda (sodium ferrocyanide) to prevent clumping. Here is an example from a major supplier of sodium chloride. Note: yellow prussiate of soda is a food grade anti-caking agent and is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA -- however, we choose to not have any additives in our product.
Short answer: NO.
Glucose can aid in the transportation and absorption of chloride and sodium, but it isn’t necessary for absorption. Your body is able to absorb electrolytes without glucose through other sodium co-transporters. We specifically use the potassium and chloride sodium co-transporters for sodium uptake. This allows our Lytes to be more versatile and used throughout the day as well as during training.
Sodium can be absorbed by the gut through other costransporters such as: phosphorus, potassium and chloride, butyrate, and amino acids.
Athletes and individuals pushing the limits can lose upwards of 7,000mg of sodium per day through sweat. LYTES is designed to replenish these lost electrolytes. Although government guidelines recommend Americans to consume no more that 2,300mg of sodium per day, it’s not enough and is in fact linked to higher blood pressure [1]. Studies show that 5,000mg of sodium per day is the ideal amount for ideal health [2].
Both flavors are derived from real fruits. Lemon lime uses lemon oil while orange uses orange oil.
We then utilize a spray dry process to turn the liquid into a fine dry powder that's clean, tastes amazing, and is shelf-stable.
We choose to use Pink Himalayan Salt as our source of sodium and trace minerals instead of a highly processed ingredient like sodium chloride. Natural salts such as Pink Himalayan Salt are generally not as "salty" tasting as sodium chloride. Another reason why we don't use sodium chloride is that manufacturers include anti-caking agents such as yellow prussiate of soda in order to keep the salt crystals from clumping. We don't have that problem with Pink Himalayan Salt and we'd rather have a more natural product.
When customers use the recommended 12oz of water, 99% of the time they love it. The more they stray from our recommendations, the more the flavor profile is going to change. If you'd like a saltier profile, we recommend reducing your water to 10oz. Natural products such as ours will not be as overpowering as other products. If you're using more than 12oz, we recommend using two sticks to get the ideal flavor.
Yes, our Pink Himalayan Salt is 3rd party tested for Arsenic, Cadmium, Copper, Chromium, Lead, and Mercury.
Yes! Lytes uses clean, natural ingredients. Kids need electrolytes too, just not as much. We recommend using half a stick for children since their electrolyte requirements are lower.
Our Himalayan salt is harvested from the Salt Range, which runs from Jalalpur - Khewra - Makhrach - Lilla- Qaidabad to Mianwali, all part of the Himalayan Mountain Range. The salt is mined in the traditional Pillar & Dome method, as with all commercially exported Himalayan salt. In this method, openings or cross-cuts are created perpendicular to the length of the rooms to connect the rooms at planned intervals. Salt pillars are left in place to provide structural support for the overlying roof and other layers.
All Himalayan salt mines are begun with an initial explosive blast to create an opening in the mountain where the mining can begin. The actual mining of the Himalayan salt is done with axes by hand and carried out of the mines to be crushed, rinsed, and screened.
The salts are then brought into our supplier's Washington State facility where they undergo an intensive quality process. Included in this process is third-party laboratory testing, which includes mineral and microbial testing. This testing shows that there is no trace of residual explosives material in the salt.
Companies who claim that explosives were not used in the process of how they have obtained their Himalayan Salt are commonly called “scrappers,” meaning that they take the left-over debris from other certified miners. You cannot extract Himalayan Salt without an initial explosive blast.
We've partnered with a supplier who utilizes the most cutting-edge technology in the industry. They use optical color sorters to control the quality of our salts, without washing away minerals or damaging the integrity of the salt crystals. Their optical cleaning method employs cameras to capture each grain of salt in real time. It then instantaneously reviews the salt crystals to ensure that each and every one meets our strict quality guidelines. This technology is so advanced it can detect foreign particles smaller than a grain of sand and identify color variations to remove discolored particles. If the salt grain is rejected, an air jet blasts that specific grain of salt, removing it from the rest of the sea salt without harming the premium salt grains in any way. The perfect grains of salt are left untouched. This process is all-natural and chemical-free. Here is a photo of the operations.
We've chosen Magnesium Glycinate because it offers a fully chelated Magnesium with the added benefits of the amino acid Glycine. Glycine benefits go a lot further than only benefiting sleep (you won't feel drowsy, just get better sleep). Glycine is an important amino acid that places a role in the production of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, and the production of creatine. And we all know the benefits of creatine. Plus we already have malic acid within our formulation so any benefit of using Magnesium Malate is already covered there.
Our citric acid is derived from the Cassava root.
